(More customer reviews)I love that this is a black and white poster with just a hint of color. It looks excellent with any decor and framed it looks like I paid a lot of money for an expensive print. I love the poster and it will go with all of my decor.

The Bridge of Sighs (Italian: Ponte dei Sospiri) is one of many bridges in Venice. The enclosed bridge is made of white limestone and has windows with stone bars. It passes over the Rio di Palazzo and connects the old prisons to the interrogation rooms in the Doge's Palace. It was designed by Antoni Contino, and built in 1602. The view from the Bridge of Sighs was the last view of Venice that convicts saw before their imprisonment. The bridge name, given by Lord Byron in the 19th century, comes from the suggestion that prisoners would sigh at their final view of beautiful Venice out the window before being taken down to their cells. Venice is a city in northern Italy and the capital of the Veneto region in Italy. Venice's nicknames include Queen of the Adriatic, City of Water, City of Bridges, and The City of Light. The city stretches across numerous small islands in the marshy Venetian Lagoon along the Adriatic Sea in northeast Italy. The Venetian Republic was a very important center of commerce and art in the Renaissance.
