(More customer reviews)The poster is a great size. The image is a little blurred compared to the more crisp image preview the seller has online. It could be because it has been enlarged to poster size so it's probably lost some of its quality. Overall, for the price it's not too bad and you can still appreciate the captured event.

On February 19, 1945, as part of their island-hopping strategy to defeat Japan, the United States invaded Iwo Jima. Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima is an historic photograph taken on February 23, 1945, by Joe Rosenthal. It became the only photograph to win the Pulitzer Prize for Photography in the same year as its publication, and came to be regarded in the United States as one of the most significant and recognizable images of the war, and possibly the most reproduced photograph of all time. The Iwo Jima flag raising has been depicted in other films including 1949's Sands of Iwo Jima, 1961's The Outsider (a biography of Ira Hayes starring Tony Curtis), and 2006's Flags of our Fathers, directed by Clint Eastwood.
