(More customer reviews)Did you read the title of my review? If so good, because seriously, a hammer will not do. You'll NEED a mallet. That said,...assembly time (1 person) is about 90 mins. Less than 60 mins if you have an electric screwdriver with hex bit attachments. There are not a lot of different pieces used to put this together, so it's pretty straight-forward.
As far as the design goes - pretty solid. This an Ikea'ish design and I like it. It's very sturdy and simple to put together. Once you DO put it together, I doubt you can take it apart - the plastic holders for the slats look like they're meant to stay in,...forever. You can easily get to the legs and remove those if your moving, but just so you know, okay? Are we cool? Yes? No? Anywayz, I'd say for the money it's a good buy. No box springs necessary since the wood slats bow upward providing that needed "cush".

For the comfort of a well-supported mattress without the expense of a traditional box spring, Handy Living designed this full-size wood slat bed frame. The bed frame benefits from a strong steel frame with a middle support beam. To evenly distribute weight, 2-inch wide birch wood slats run horizontally from the sides to the middle support beam. The bed holds up to 600 pound, and stands steady on seven steel legs: four at the corners, two on the sides and one in the center. More affordable than a box spring, the bed frame additionally provides storage space with 13 inches of space under the bed. The bed frame requires adult home assembly; users may need a mallet, a socket wrench, a power screwdriver, and other tools for the assembly process. A member of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, Handy Living designed the bed frame with entirely recyclable parts and ships the bed frame parts in one box to eliminate excess packaging. King- and queen- sized models of the bed frame are also available. The full-sized bed frame measures 76 inches long by 54 inches wide by 13 inches high.

Contacted Bunk Bed Frames and they advised to hold onto it until they sent UPS to pick it up, they would send the correct size immediately. I still have the incorrect bed frame and am still waiting to have it picked up. The service through Amazon has been just absolutely wonderful, just need to get the wrong item returned. (More customer reviews)The bed took about 2 hours to put together with 2 people. It came damaged (one of the boards that you lay the mattress on itself had a corner w/ particle board broken off), and there isn't really anything you can do about it. The molding around the bed didn't come with holes drilled into it, but it is soft so you have to force the screws into the molding itself, all the while from the bottom up (hardest part of putting it together). Some screws don't screw in tightly to the base boards. The molding is only held on by about 6 screws on the very edge of a board, and putting any force on it at all bends it/break it.
Overall, you get what you pay for. It is made from cheap particle board for the most part, with visible unpainted/uncovered bits at certain places. However it does its job and looks decent. Spend a few extra dollars and buy a platform bed from a local furniture store instead so you don't risk not being able to return damaged goods and can have a real look at it.

So you will need to get a frame separately, which I did. I just LOVE this bed now. It is low profile, masculine,and sexy! Just what I was looking for. Nomad Platform Bed Frame - Solid Hardwood Review

(More customer reviews)I am usually hesistant to order bed frames sight unseen, but because of the reviews (and the price) I took a chance with this product.
Short and sweet: high quality, great finish, perfect fight.
First thing I noticed was the screws screw into metal, not wood. Nice! The finish was very smooth and was ready for staining/sealing out of the box. I decided to finish it with Danish Oil for a natural finish. Looks fantastic. All holes lined up perfectly. All pieces fit together correctly, and everything is level. The quality for the price is A+. It does stand tall.....taller than my old metal frame/box spring/mattress combo. As a matter of fact, it is tall enough for me to easily climb under (6'0", 180lbs), but I like it that way. I was able to assemble it by myself in 30 minutes. TIP: use a box to hold up one end while you work on the opposite end.
The only thing I would warn others about is the gap in the middle is wider than shown in the picture. It didn't matter to me since I was laying down some plywood for a memory foam mattress, but I wanted to let others know.
I saw much cheaper (not to mention heavier) particle board platform beds locally in shops for $250+ and none matched the quality of this frame.
