Two Person Jumbo Hammock ~ Oak Spreaders STAND IS SOLD SEPARATELY Review

Two Person Jumbo Hammock ~ Oak Spreaders STAND IS SOLD SEPARATELY

Bought this hammock in 2006 -- it lasted through one summer before completely falling apart halfway through the second. (A rope or two or three shredded the first summer too, which we were able to tie the ends together to keep using the hammock.)
Then again, with the price, I didn't expect much more.
I noticed right out of the box that the hammock rope wasn't as substantial as the hammocks I have previously owned -- the strands were softer -- less like rope and more like cording (if that makes any sense...)
We have a metal hammock stand; one would barely clear the ground when lying on the hammock due to the looseness of the weave.
Note that it is called a "Two Person" hammock, and that we did subject it to the full two-person load (and occasionally a small child thrown in for good measure.) Plus, we left it outside, exposed to the elements, all summer. But all our previous hammocks have taken this abuse and lasted an average of three years.
Figure that with the cheaper price it's still an okay buy. But now that I'm in the market again for a hammock, I think I'm going to spend a little more money and hopefully get something more durable.

Outback Chair CCH-237 Charleston Rope Chair Review

Outback Chair CCH-237 Charleston Rope Chair

My OLD review: I had used a friend's hammock chair before buying my own, but his was made of very thin synthetic threads that catch quite easily on buttons, etc. Not so with the Charleston! The cotton rope that makes up the weave is very comfortable to sit in all on its own, or with the chair cushion that is provided, and, if it happens to catch on something, it's no big deal. All I have to monitor with the kids is how far they swing...
I love it, my wife loves it, my kids love it. Can't wait to take it camping this Summer (though I may never leave the chair. Someone else has fire duty from now on).
AND NOW: well, the thing broke, repeatedly and in multiple places. The top part broke within a couple of months, at which point I filled out my warranty card and received a nice e-mail asking if I would send photos. When I finally got around to sending the photos, they included the several other places where the strands had simply snapped. I have not heard from Outback since sending the photos. DO NOT BUY THIS! Feels great to start, then falls to pieces. Total rip-off.

Texsport Hammock/Stand Crystal Bay Combo Review

I was very disappointed with this hammock. The cloth that you lay on was so narrow I couldn't have gotten comfortable and as soon as you sat on it you felt like you were tipping over.Only tried it once and knew it had been a mistake. Don't waste the money let alone the $20.00 to ship it and then another $20.00 to send it back!!! That's $40.00 wasted.
