(More customer reviews)Although it's plastic, it doesn't have the "look" of plastic. It doesn't look cheap. It was on my daughter in laws Christmas wish list, so I only looked at it through the plastic covering before I wrapped it. But from what I could see...it was cleanly made, not scratched up, nice detail work, had a decent weight to it, and didn't look shiny cheap. The detail work looked evenly done on all sides. The beadwork around the inside edges looked like they were all evenly sized and matching as well as the scroll work. All the detail work lined up well.
Was not embarrassed to give it as a gift. Matter of fact, if this was my 'taste' (I like ultra modern)...I would definitely buy one for myself. It would go well with either that heavy Italian look, or the Lite Parisian look, or even the Cottage look... many styles because it's not to 'heavy handed' in the details.
