The quality of this print was poor. I intended have it framed and give it as a gift, but it wasn't worth framing. The coloring was so dark that the horizon line wasn't visible. Maybe in another print it wouldn't matter so much, but for Monk by the Sea it ruined it. I guess it's what you would expect for a few dollars.

Caspar David Friedrich (September 5, 1774 ? May 7, 1840) was a 19th-century German Romantic landscape painter, generally considered the most important of the movement. He is best known for his allegorical landscapes which typically feature dimension contemplative figures silhouetted against night skies, morning mists, barren trees or Gothic ruins.
