(More customer reviews)The frame is lightweight and the mat is a piece of paper that you have to cut out -- it's not mat board. The material for the frame appears to be a molded plastic.
For our purpose -- a bathroom picture -- it works as long as it's not subject to close inspection. From a moderate distance the frame looks nice.
