Alphonse Maria Mucha, sometimes spelled Alphons, (24 July 1860 - 14 July 1939) was a Czech Art Nouveau painter and decorative artist. Mucha produced a flurry of paintings, posters, advertisements, and book illustrations, as well as designs for jewellery, carpets, wallpaper, and theatre sets in what was initially called the Mucha Style but became known as Art Nouveau. Mucha's works frequently featured beautiful healthy young women in flowing vaguely Neoclassical looking robes, often surrounded by lush flowers which sometimes formed haloes behind the women's heads. In contrast with contemporary poster makers he used paler pastel colors. The 1900 Universal Exhibition in Paris diffused the Mucha style internationally.

Other than the colors not being as vivid as I would have liked, this was a good value. I bought this one and two other Alphonse Mucha prints to accompany. Looks great with my queen anne style furnishings and my antique baby grand.

Bottom line: I received a poster in rough shape, they sent another one and refunded the cost back to my account. Expect no problems here.

It is unfortunate that they don't have a higher quality poster for this Mucha image. But I put it into a nice frame I got from Aaron Brothers and it looks fantastic on the wall.

Probably the most recognizable and famous of Absinthe adds, and a favorite of many absintheurs.
This poster has magnificent quality. It is exactly as seen in the picture, including the green bands around the main image. Frame it in one of this and you have a fabulous piece for any room for very little money.
