It appears to be a composite of some kind with a rustic veneer - this is just fine by me since I don't expect anyone to pick it off my wall and check the back or weigh it. For the price, I'm not complaining. I would buy again.

Our frames larger than 12x18 inches include styrene facing (acrylic upgrade is available), a rigid cardboard backing and hanging hardware. Some assembly is required to attach the hanging hardware to the frame. Hanging hardware includes: (1) 1" Nail, (1) 30# capacity Wall Hanger, (1) 9'6" length of Hanging Wire, (2) D-Rings, (2) 1/2" Screws. It is very difficult to find square frames and rusty roof has a great selection of them in many sizes and colors. You can't beat the price and quality. On one of the frames I noticed a small scratch. I called rusty roof and they promptly sent out a replacement frame with no extra charge or shipping. And they let me keep the scratched frame. Great customer service and excellent products.

(More customer reviews)I knew that these frames were not going to be solid wood, but when the package arrived the corners of almost all of the frames were marred in some way. Also, the color that the frame was stained/painted ran when it was wiped down with a damp cloth to remove dust. All in all, a cheap frame that is ok to house pictures in my playroom, but needed a bit of TLC to look great. Great shipping and customer service however- we received them pretty quickly and the glass was all intact and packaging was very good- I just think the construction of the frames is a little 'cheap', so that when they were packaged with the corner protectors they were damaged a bit.

Picture Frame Red Rustic Pine .. .75'' wide Review

(More customer reviews)It seems sort of silly to review a frame, but this is no ordinary frame like one could buy in a store; it's custom designed. From past experience, I know that 12" by 12" frames are hard to find, and I've wasted valuable time looking, not to mention money spent on gas. And if I were fortunate enough to find one, it ended up having gaps at edges of the photo or print I wanted to display in an artful manner. And that is totally unacceptable, I'm sure you will agree...
But not so with this meticulously aligned rustic pine frame: It fit the print perfectly and is "horizontally and vertically correct." (Know what I mean?) It's obvious that ArtToFrames has well-trained craftsmen who take pride in their work.
I now have the most lovely, inspiring print hanging in my home office! In fact, I'm so proud of it I'm going to post it with my FaceBook photos. If you would like to see it on Amazon, follow this link: "To Dream" by Jo Moulton - framed artwork art prints. (Keep in mind that I chose a narrower frame than the one pictured because I didn't want the frame to dominate the lovely print.) I hope the message inspires you as it does me: "It will cost you nothing to DREAM...everything not to." I promise to review it asap. (I know that will make your day...lol)
All in all, I'm very pleased with this "picturesque" product, the service and fast delivery. The proof is on my wall!
