I recommend it if you don't care too much about looks, but don't get it if you are looking for a professional look. I had to buy a 16x24 glass for $25 to replace that foggy plexiglass and now it looks good, but I ended up spending more than I wanted to.

Then they arrived totally broken and no wonder -- there was no individual wrapping inside of the package. Unimaginable for such a fragile product.
I did get a prompt return of my money after the second shipping, but then was required to return the package (at the shipper's expense.)
A very disappointing and unsatisfactory experience.

Craig shipped the item quickly and it arrived in just a couple of days. Packing was very well done in a perfect sized box with styrofoam inserts and paper protecting the frame in shipment.
The frame itself is wood with the advertised styrene plastic insert. The backing is basic cardboard, which kind of surprised me.
The frame also comes with a single uninstalled hanger with two screws. These can be hand-screwed in with care, but you'll need to measure to center...there are no pre-drilled or pilot holes to speak of.
But once you've done that, the finished product looks lovely.

It's not worth it to me to return it so I painted the dents with a black sharpie marker and you can't see them unless you get really close. But given the size of the box it came in it should have been in mint condition! I'm very disappointed with how my purchase was handled. This is why I don't like to shop on the internet!

I just wanted a cheap but nice frame for a paint by numbers I finished last summer, and $17 was a steal! I would have liked to have glass with it but it went over the cutoff of sizes that come with glass; the plastic covering it comes with is sufficient though. The packaging was great - the frame arrived in excellent condition and came within a good amount of time!

(More customer reviews)I prefer to print my photos in their original aspect ratio of 3:2 as 8X12s, I started using these frames as they are one of the few frames that I could get reliably that support this ratio. All the frames arrived unbroken. I have had instances in the past where the corner of the frame was damaged. I have also read comments that some have had issued with the glass falling out as it is inserted from the front and held in place by tension. I have used a couple dozen of these frames and have never had this problem. I appreciate the form factor of these frames as they really let the photos speak for themselves.

24x34 Black custom size complete picture frame Review

(More customer reviews)I received my frame. It's not perfect but it took awhile to get so I'm not sending it back. I will work with it as is.
The clear plastic was scratched and the frame was not quite the right size. I had to trim a 1/4" off of the edge to make it fit.
I should not have had to do that if the frame truly was 24x34.
I ordered a 24x34 frame, which is not a standard size that I could find in a retail store.
So for what I paid the frame is much less expensive then getting a custom frame made.

This frame I bought, was packed in a huge square box. Nothing a frame should have been shipped in. It arrived broken. How do you pack a frame in a huge square box, with no buble wrap, nothing to protect it from bouncing all over the box? How stupid is this? Now, I expect this seller to at least replace the broken glass, due to the lousy packing they did. I am not a happy camper. It really is frustrating when you cannot get in contact with the seller. This is not for me. Problems should be taken care of. The seller to me is in hiding now.

Not the cheapest thing out there (with shipping, a bit over $50 for two of them) but they look very nice and I couldn't find this size of frame in a regular frame store. I would have had to order them custom made, which would have been really pricey. These were definitely worth the extra $ compared to the cheaper plastic frames out there, I will actually keep these ones for some time - they don't look like they belong in a dorm.
Note that there is some assembly required - you need to screw in two eye screws and attach a piece of wire to create a hanging mechanism in the back. There weren't really instructions for doing so, so I kind of made it up and the first one didn't turn out like I wanted (you can see the wire extending above the top of the frame). The second one I did turned out well (tip: screw in the two screws about 4 inches lower than the top - one on the right side and one on the left side - and make sure the wire is taut enough between them that it won't extend above the top of the frame). It would have been nice if they came with a hanging mechanism in place already, or instructions.

Stylish ebony black beveled float frame by Malden - 8x10 Review

(More customer reviews)I ordered 7 of these for a photo collection. They arrived in the original boxes from China. Even then, two of the frames are broken. That's a pretty bad failure rate. Considering two frames were broken without anyone even removing them from their original shipping boxes, I'm worried about how easily the others will break. Now instead of hanging pictures in time for our next family gathering, I have to spend time preparing a return.
A couple notes about the frames themselves, if they were all in one piece. They're very simple, good looking frames. The finish is *incredibly* easy to scratch, and the packaging on each frame tends to stick to the frame so you have to scrape off stuck on cardboard without scratching the finish. In addition, they do not come with mats. Maybe that's what "floater" means, but the item title ("8x10 MATTED") and the picture make it seem like they'll come with mats.
From what I've seen in stores, these frames at the sale price are comparably priced, although the quality seems pretty poor. At the original price, these are very much not worth the money.

My only advice is read the description carefully and don't go by the picture. The picture for this product for example implies there is a matte which is actually another product. We were impressed with the range of aspect ratios and sizes available. They turned out to be pretty nice quality. There were only a couple of downers: the cost of shipping was rather steep and one of the frames had a minor waviness on one side. The waviness is only visible if you look at these very closely, but indicates the importance of shopping in brick and mortar stores for non mass manufactured items like these.
Overall, we are very satisfied with the purchase. Particularly recommend this if you need non-standard sizes.

- My overall experience was great. I would definitely order from the seller again.
CONS
- "Dark walnut" frames (style 621) I received are not actually stained but painted to appear stained. The color picture in the listing is misleading. The method is to paint a black undercoat, then a brown color coat, then sand it so the black coat shows through. It gives a stain-like effect which is subtle but noticeable (stained wood lets the wood's grain show through, painted does not). I would have purchased a non-wood color frame had I known that. (In fact I did also purchase black frames of a different size and they look great!)
